is there any way for me to be notified if my wife applies for credit

I don't think so . . . Since she is an adult, I think that she is able to enter into contracts without your permission or notification.

If you want to be sneaky then sign her up for monthly credit reports and have them sent to your office or something. It might be a great way to start a huge fight if she finds out though. I know my wife and I argue about money from time to time.

I wouldn't do that. I know for a fact my wife would assassinate me if I pulled that.

Hehe. Yeah mine would be pretty PO'd. We had a huge fight because she pulled my free credit report. Man was I ticked off. It seems like she pulls a stunt like that from time to time that just makes me explode. I still can't figure out why she pulled it unless she was trying to see how bad she trashed my credit. Most of it is cleaned up now though.

it is illegal to pull ANYONES credit but your own. When you pull credit (free reports or otherwise) you click on a section that says that you are ordering the report for yourself and not anyone else etc etc etc. I don't know WHO she could get into trouble with, but from all appearances she CAN get into trouble.

Yeah well for starters she got her you know what kicked by me. I assure you I was very mad. Other than that nothing ever came up. I suspect I would have to file a complaint for criminal charges to occur unless someone else found out and filed.
