how long do a creditor have to respond to a letter in the intent to settle a debt




There is no time limit. Still you can wait for 15-20 days.

It depends on the creditor. If you don't get any response from a long time, then talk in person or give a call.

THere is no such limit, I agree with SC. Wait for 15 to 20 days, then give a call to them.

After sending your settlement offer, give a call to follow up if you don't get any reply. Your behavior should show your willingness but at the same time you shouldn't hurry to finalize the offer.
