Yes I have signed up with amerassist after 2 months they informed me that I could not cancel unless I file bankruptcy they sais that they do not give refunds they have almost 13000.00 of my money have dispursed none and I have people hounding me daily and suing me. They suck!! I would not recommend them to anyone. They are nice when taking your money and then after that you are ignored!! I am contacting an attorney to start a class action suit against them. Also, they do not tell you that you will pay them same amount for your debt they settle with creditors and keep the differance so why not negotiate your slef and save the money rather than pay the same amount and they make a fortune on you.

I too was totally ripped off by Amerassist /Commerical Debt Counseling Corporation. After withdrawing over $11,000 from my bank account, CDCC only settled one of my five creditors, and that was at full price. Then they proceeded to charge me over $4,500 in fees. During my association with CDCC, which I ended when they said that there was nothing more that they could do for me, I was served with three separate lawsuits. They now have $6,600 of my money which they refuse to refund even though they didn't do one thing to help me with my outstanding debt. I would be happy to join in a class action lawsuit, and encourage everyone to stay far, far away from Amerassist/CDCC. They could care less about you, and their contract is written totally for their benefit.

If you got ripped off, then file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and your State's Attorney General.

The FTC *IS* listening, they are in the process of actively investigating these debt settlement firms and eventually, the truth will out.

I cannot stress it enough - if you have a legitimate complaint - FILE IT.

Google search your state Attorney General's Office.

This is especially important, because in a quick Google search, the only complaint online I could find for this company was Small Business in Missour's complaint posted on this board and another. A legally filed complaint has a good chance of being true, but posting complaints on 2 forums is only hearsay and can be considered as slander and allegations, should the company so desire to pursue that route.

Well that, and the complaints you mention here are pretty standard complaints for the entire debt settlement industry.

Good luck, keep us posted, and welcome to the forums!

I am totally in for a class action suit against AmerAssist. They took our money and promised that if they did not save us money then there services were free. What an outright lie. If I would continue with them, I would pay almost 15,000 more than I started with over a 36 period. It is so sad that there are people that take advantage of people in such despirate times. Please do not trust this company.

I am presently involved with this lousy company...they have taken $9K and have done NOTHING to resolve any of these issues.....I was told I could cancel accounts they had at first then, they said I couldn't or I would have to pay them......This certainly seems like a scam preying on desperate business people that are trying to solve their problems.....getting calls back are impossible!!!!!!!!!

Has there been a class action started against this company?..I had an attorney friend read their contract and she says it favors them and lets them make money for doing nothing!......How is it legal to draw up contracts like this?......I have no problem paying them for helping me...... We need the old days back were your paid after you do a good respectable job for the client.......sounds like they get you on a contract then really never try to settle accounts for you because the contract you sign says you will pay them anyway......I been at this for over 3 months and not 1 settlement has been obtained!.....Does this sound like it is real or what?.....

Unfortunately I have had the pleasure of being sent an outstanding invoice multiple times, and paid the first time I received. This was for a company that I had services done by and lacked the initiative to send me a direct bill to my address. Now every three weeks I receive another bill although I paid 2 & 1/2 months ago. Every time I call them this sweet sounding lady says it is handled. Sounds like they screw around with everybody. Good luck in your endeavors. You could all benefit by filing complaints with the better business bureau, and as well online file on
