Is there a debt consolidation company that will help with debt under 2000?

Welcome----what kind of debt? Is it like payday loans or credit cards or what? Oops, I now see that you said credit card debt---is it your only credit card?

I think the amounts are higher to do the consolidation.

You don't really need consolidaton for that amount, you can do it yourself.

Are you talking about one card or several?

Are they still with the original creditor?

Are they deliquent, charged off or current?

This info will help us provide you more detalied info to get you started.

What I did was, I started off with the lowest balance one, scrimped and did without, to put extra money on it-every penny I could get my hands on, to go with the payment. Once I got that paid off, I took all that money and added it to my payment of the next lowest one, and so on. Some people say do the ones with the highest interest, but I had to do it this way to see results faster..Feel free to ask questions..karen

I was only late for a 1.5 month, Bank of America is already sending me a letter to threaten me about legal actions.

Here it is:We recently received your letter requesting that we no longer contact you about above reference acct. We understand that you prefer not to receive calls, and we will honor your request. However, please understand that if we do not receive a payment of $259 by August 26 2008. We may refer your to outside counsel for legal proceedings. This may result in legan action against you.

Do you guys receive this when you enter a debt settlement program?

I entered a debt settlement program with "solve debts" in San Francisco. They said that if I get sued, they will file something to delay the court date or something. I can't remember the name of the compel of motion or soemthing like that.

Your posts are informative, but kind of confusing. Is the 2000 you wrote about part of the 11000? Has your debt settlement company contacted this creditor yet? It could be that the creditor has not heard from your debt settlement company.

Lorri, I think the reason that you are confused is because there are two different people posting. It looks to me like the $2000 is a different poster than the $11000.
