receiving calls from 866-295-0569. they do not leave a name. just a message saying call this number regarding a urgent message, it imperative they get a statement regarding this matter. this is a scammer right? I googled and streamline recovery inc comes up, the website looks a bit generic. anyone else receive calls from them???

yes a scam.they want you on the phone to threaten you illegally.report and ignore, and do not call the any numbers they give.

I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this post. I may have to disagree with Paul on them being a scam.

All I'm providing is firsthand dealings with Streamline. I was actually contacted by them last month as well. Like Paul mentioned, I thought for sure they were one of the scammers, because as the OP mentioned the voicemail they left is VERY vague. It does not mention the business name nor does it state it's a debt collector. We've all received voicemails like that.

Well, I've been learning ALOT about how the deal with legit debt collectors on another board and decided I had enough. I looked up Streamline on the Secretary of State's website (CAs have to be licensed in my state) and sure enough, they were licensed.

Still thinking it may be a scam, I called back the number left on my voicemail, because again they didn't identify themselves and that's when I found out who they were. I recorded our phone call. I installed an app on my cell phone and this is standard protocol for me now. I live in a one party state and Streamline is based in NY also a one party state, so I was free to record.

When the first rep came on line, he DID NOT cite the mini-Miranda, which is FDCPA violation #2 at this point. #1 leaving a voicemail not disclosing who they were or that they were a debt collector. #3 was when he refused to give me their address.....big red flag they're a scam, right....in this case, wrong. #4 the other rep still hadn't cited the Mini-miranda, #5 mispresenting the debt because he said they weren't a collection agency but rather a civil pre-mediation.

Mind you all of this is being recorded. The violations just kept racking up. So, I contacted my lawyer who's currently suing our beloved Delbert and asked her her opinion on if they were legit. Once she did her reasearch she found out, they were. We've officially sued them and their registered agent in our state has been served.

Long story short, they are real enough to sue. Looking at court cases against them, they've been sued multiple times in 2013 and it looks like they've settled each time. We're hoping for the same.

Lastly, on top of the fact I notified them I was represented by an attorney, of course they called me again....violation # 46598302. So now, we're working on another lawsuit since this happened after the first one was filed and the FDCPA only allows $1k in statutory damages regardless of the amount of penalties per case.

OP, if you ever read and you still have the evidence of violations, I honestly think it's worth your time to consult a consumer attorney. Most work on contingency and only get paid if you win, because the other side has to pay their "reasonable fees" per the FDCPA.

just because they are licensed doesn't mean a thing as you said it yourself juju.while they have been sued have they actually sued anyone themselves?i think not.maybe ignoring when you can sue is a my bad,but again alot of supposed licensed entities break the law hand over fist.
