I took out 2 PayDay Loans. One with Miinan Funds (Ladder Credit) for $1050 & one with Northern Plains Funding for $500. To date, I have paid Miinan Funds a total of $1905.67 (over paid by $855.67) and Northern Plains a total of $2,332.45 (over paid by $1,832.45).
I have closed my bank account and sent the sample letter requesting PIF and a refund of my over-payments to both lenders.
Northern Plains responded stating that my loan "is consistent with applicable law" and will be moved into collections. No response yet from Miinan.
Do I need to reach out to Belen Cubero in their collections department, as per their response, or wait for her to reach out to me? Has anyone dealt with either of these "Tribes"? Has anyone successfully collected refunds from either one? Is there anything further I can do to recoup any of my massive over-payments?

Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the payoff amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
