I got a loan through them last year in October I think, i closed my account so they couldnt debit it anymore. I just couldnt afford it anymore. A lady named Evora from Red River Ventures left a message on my voicemail today. What happens if I cant pay this remaining balance back? I live in Alabama - GADSDEN, are they even legal to do internet loans here? The message says she is from Red River Ventures and when you call the number back its Cityview cash that answers...can someone guide me on what to do...?

No they are not legal. They are located on an indian reservation.

Here is a recent thread about them.

Alabama requires the lender to be licensed and City View is not licensed anywhere that I can tell.

Yep, Alabama requires the PDL company to be licensed in their state to make the loan LEGAL from when I last checked. Here is the link to an important sticky.

Have you taken a loan with City View and how much did you pay them in the past?

You only owe them what you borrowed.

I assume you closed your checking account? Is there any way to tell for sure the payments that were made?

What are they smokin :x $6000 I think NOT! I suggest you get a copy of old bank statements somehow and total up he amount you actually paid in fees and principal. If it is more than $200, you are done with them and they owe you a refund. If not, then you need to pay whatever is left over not exceed $200 total. You are morally obligated to only pay the principal when the company is ILLEGAL.

I think I can go back through my statements, they are saying that my check bounced when they only have tried to collect the intrest and not the actual amount of the check.

Ok, well do your research and get that amount you paid. Remember only pay them what you borrowed. Also I suggest sending payment in forms of money order or rechargeable debit card only. Do not give them your new bank account information.

can they do a wage assignment on me? I thought in alabama the only way to have wages garnished is to be served with legal court papers.
