They just called my hubby's work and told him they are serving him on Friday - he said that the guy that called him and then the guy that they "transferred" him to (attorney supposedly) sounded like the same guy - Does anyone have experience with this?

Okay I got some more info from the attny - he is saying that this is from 2007 (May 2007) - and the money went into my SAVINGS account supposedly. We had one payday loan out at that time with APPLE payday loans (or something similar to that), in MY name, not my husbands. I called my bank to try to get an old statement from that time, waiting on them to fax it. If he had a payday loan from them that went into my savings (his name is not even on that account), I knew nothing about it. He swears he didn't - so who knows what is going on. Right now I'm upset though, because I went into labor this morning and am supposed to be lying down taking it easy and instead I'm stressing over this crap.

Is anyone familiar with the Bud Hibbs website? Are they for real, or a scam? The reason I ask, is I just looked up this attorney that is calling my husband saying they are going to serve him on Friday and it says this about Attorney Patrick Corbet:

The debt collection Law Offices of Patrick M. Corbett dba/ Southern Tier Agency is a scam. Anyone being contacted by these fools should tape their calls, demand debt validation in writing, report ALL threats to the NYS Bar (see information below) then contact me assistance and referral to a consumer law professional, capable of introducing ???????Rent-A-Lawyer???????? Corbett to the joys of litigation.

Attorney Patrick M. Corbett and Southern Tier Agency are just another chapter of a very old, illegal and sickening con game to take monies they are NOT entitled to, on debts that usually cannot hold any legal basis for collections.

My husband knows nothing about this PDL, nor do I, although I am looking at their website and they have all our info along with contracts that "he" signed. My bank shows no deposits from them, only from a company called Apple (which is who I remember getting the loan through). We don't know what we should do - if he gets served at work on Friday that could cause major problems with his job, his bosses are already riding him right now about all of this.

I'm waiting on this "attorney" to call me back - I gave him my number, he said he needed to reboot his computer and would call right back.

This is total madness - Ken Morgan (a representative of Corbett's office) told me that they filed an index for a judgement which would be served on Friday to him at work. I asked what they would do, he said he'd have to appear in court and they'd put a notice of default on his credit report and that would be that, started talking about liquidating assets - what does that mean? We have no assets, we're flat broke. He had our address, social security numbers, bank account info, IP address, everything - sounded very legit. I didn't offer to give him money, he didn't really ask, told me the amount $572.12 and said he was just letting us know if we wanted to take care of it and I said no, so he said we'd just have to wait to be served. I don't know, at this point, I am just going to wait till Friday and see what happens.

Did they say Cash Net USA? Or just Cash Net? This doesn't sound like Cash Net USA, but it does sound like something Cash Net 500 would do . . . .
