hey guys a few yrs ago i took a loan out against my mortgage and now i have about 18-20 in credit card debt. so i owe about 40k in credit not including my mortgage. i don't and can't refi because my house has not rissen that much over the last 2 yrs with the market. where can i go to get a loan for 40k without doing another home equity loan? if i go to sell my house i don't want that taken right off the top of money i could be putting down on the next house. what compaines can i trust. i do have good credit also. so i am looking at around 20k in credit card debt and 20k in a home equity loan so 40k. please help and lead me the right way without hurting my credit i worked hard to build.

I'm not sure that you would be able to get a 40K loan without putting up some equity, such as your home. Do you have any extra income that you could use to start systematically paying down your debt instead?

Maybe someone else will come along with some different advice. . .

Have you spoken to your bank? Some of them still do signature loans if you have GOOD credit and a long history with them.

Good Luck!
