These people keep calling my parents so I called them back with the number they left. I am not working but I am trying to pay off my debts, by sending money orders with money that I make doing what small jobs I get. I offered to pay the 250 dollar debt they say I owe by sending 25 dollar money orders each month. They say that they cannot accept a money order even if it were 100 dollars a month, and that I had to have a bank account number to give them. I have no bank account. They said that I had to get one from a relative or someone which I can't. So they said that the account would sit until further action is done to me. How can I pay this debt if they would not accept money orders? Other places have and do accept money orders from me. I have paid off some of my debts this way. Is Focus Recievable Management legitimate or is it a less than honest business and what can I do to help this situation.

Focus Receivables Management is a company that handles commercial and consumer collection services for businesses. Focus offers pre-collection letters, skip tracing, asset location, and customized reports. Target markets include the auto, financial services, retail, and telecommunication industries; clients include such big names as BellSouth, Chrysler, DIRECTV, Discover Financial Services, and Wachovia. Focus Receivables Management was founded in 2001 and operates offices in Marietta, Georgia, and Tampa, Florida, they sound legit,Im not sure why they would not want your money, and wanted checking account information seems odd, unless they want to try a debit you account.I would contact them a speak to a supervisor or manager, sometimes that does to trick.

Do you have the details of this account in writing from them? You must get sure that this company is the one to receive money from you.

Don't give your personal information in any case before you see the accurate picture of your account. A legitimate business will open other payment options if you are reluctant to give your personal info.

If you find hard dealing with this agency, take some professional help. The experts know how to speak in their language and will make necessary arrangements on behalf of you.

When I called them I did ask for an address in which to send the money order to and they refused to give it to me. Maybe I should contact the original company in which I owe or call this place back and ask for validation of the debt. Thank you for your advice.

You can definitely pay your creditor if they have assigned this collection agency to collect the debt from you. Explain the situation that the agency is failing to honor your debt validation request. They will make the necessary arrangements for you so that the account gets paid off. After it's paid, they will also report to the bureaus.

I have been on "hold" waiting for an operator for over an hour. Focus Receivable is taking out unauthorized withdrawls from my account and I can't seem to get ahold of anyone to correct this. I authorized 2 payments to be taken out to pay off a bill and today there was a withdrawl on my account for $4.95(electronic check). At NO TIME DID I AUTHORIZE THIS AMOUNT!!!!!This was NOT part of either payment and I DID NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS AMOUNT BEING TAKEN OUT!!!!!!I check my account daily and if they go ahead and take out unauthorized amounts, my account will be overdrawn. Since nobody seems to be taking phone calls-I will be calling the better business bureau. I worried about this when the arrangement was set up and asked repeatedly if this would happen and was told if it did THEY(focus receivable) would get in trouble. Would this be before OR after the overdraft charges??????

Hi celestialskye13, tell your bank about this withdrawal. They have the power to dispute the debits with the company. If nothing comes verified by Focus Receivable, the amount can be reverted back. You need to talk with your bank first. And, file a complaint with your AG's office if the debit is proven unauthorized.

I also called this company from my caller ID and soke with a John there. He requested personal inforamtion from me and I told him if he really needs the inforamtion he will write me on a company letterhead and I will respond the same way back to him. He told me could not do that and I told him if he can't then there is nothing we have to talk about and I hung up on him.

Do not give them your account number because they will debit your account unauthorized. My mom set up payment arrangments to be debited from her account on the 27th of sept. They took 4.95 as soon as they hung up the phone on th 8th of sept. And then took $25 on the 14th.of sept.. Because they took the money before they were supposed to , my mom had to pay 95.00 in overdrafts.

I agee with Arkansas. Do not ever give them your account info. I had an agreement with them and it was fine until July of this year. I was told by one of their employees that it wasnt good enough anymore and that I had to make a settlement. I could not due to my husband being in Iraq at the moment. I have 4 young children and only his income for us to live on. He stated that I had to pay a large amount and then could resume the payment arrangement I had been doing until my husband was home from Iraq. Well they took out more then they were supposed to on the 5th of September and it only left my with $69.00 in my account to live on for the rest of the month. I happen to bank at a very nice and friendly place and they have been so wonderful. Unfortunatly the way they take the money they couldnt refund it for me but they told me where I could go. The people at Focus had told me they could not do online bill pay that I had to either give them a debit card or my check info just like the KFK persons problem. They used random check numbers to take out the money from my account resulting in me being forced to close my account and reopen a new one. If you have problems with this place call or write to the department of financial institutions because what they are doing is illegal and they need stopped.
