You are entitled to get a free copy of your report once in a year, or during security reasons like identity theft or account duplication. But for other reasons, you need to pay a minimum of $12 per report from any 3 bureaus.

Once a year you'll get free credit report from all the 3 credit bureaus. But if you want more than once, you may have to pay minimum $12 per report.

As everyone has said, you can get one free credit report once a year from each of the credit bureaus.
However, it's worth paying bucks to check it if you wish to or at least twice a year. Also, check your credit score from time to time to know it better.
