I thought I saw something on this board that says a Collection account can only remain on your Credit report for the length of time that the original Debt does.

Is this correct?

Second if you are able to get the original debt removed early does that mean the collection entry has to be removed?

A CA can report without the OC's entry. These accounts remain until seven years after charge off date.

No, but there's a chance the CA cannot prove that the debt is legit, so file a dispute.
