Has anyone here used bankruptcy software for help in filing. I am thinking of using one becasue I can't afford a lawyer. Can anyone give me any suggestions, thanks

I know Goudah filed on her own, but I don't think she used software. Hang tight, she will probably be around soon. :)

You can download the forms from the federal bankruptcy court website...goudah will be around and will help you further.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend software - It can't give you advice, it's only going to put your words in whatever spot.

All the forms are available on your local BK court website and the federal court website.

But - I wouldn't recommend filing on your own unless you have an easy case and can follow directions well. The bad thing is that if you mess up the case is thrown out.

I looked into the software packages when I filed, and none of them are very good. Most of the ones I found were actually pre 2005 software, which would be worthless.

What would you consider an easy case?

I'd consider an easy case a Chapter 7 that involved no property.
