Hi all.. could anyone out there lend me some advice... I am in Ohio & loans with Checksmart, Express PRA and Check Exchange. Checksmart and Express are sister companies - same corporate  - who just yell and scream at you until they get their money. And advice on how to handle them? I tried to work out arrangements with them and told them they had to allow me to make payments - he laughed and said I'm ending this call now. HELP PLEASE! This will cause a divorce if I can't get it straightened out very quickly. I can't close my account - I work for that bank and they require direct deposit. They said that it was getting turned into collections Monday and that I should contact a lawyer - I thought they weren't allowed to leave that sort of info on an answering machine per privacy laws. Any advice?
By signing up a debt counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the payoff amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
