Has anyone had to deal with these people. I am guessing one of the Payday loans I had, has sent them information because they called me today. I will be calling them back, but just curious if anyone else has information on them?

What should I say to them and should I send them a C&D letter?

I live in california and the couple of payday loans I had are illegal. I stopped paying after I found this out and they have not wanted to work with me. I was just about to send out the C&D letters to the creditors, but then Harbinger called me.

usfastcash is tribal, and therefore totally illegal.report this bottomfeeder to your AG,AND THE FTC.know that harbinger is a bottomfeeding pile of wormslime that can't/won't do a thing they threaten.btw in TX they must post a 10,000 bond to collect in TX.i can guarantee they didn't post said bond so report and ignore.

You need to go to your state website of Department of Financial Regulation and check for licensee to see if lender is licensed in your state. What state are you in and the name of the caller? Good possibility that they are illegal.

Got a call from a John Fishman at Harbinger Group. Does anyone know if US Fast Cash is illegal? I'm in TX. I sent them a C&D letter, and they stopped calling...now this place is calling me. Should I send them a C&D letter? He only called once and when I wouldn't verify my address, only my email, he said "Thanks Amy" and hung up. I don't want them calling my employer either.

How do you find out if they are illegal in your state? I just got a call from someone today and found this site. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Harbinger called me as well. They said they 'bought' my debt from Castle Payday. I told them that the loan was illegal in my state. The more the woman talked to me, trying to convince me I was wrong about that and she came across as very defensive regarding tribal loans, the more I realized they were actually part of Castle Payday and not an outside debt collector like they were posing as. When I told the lady I was going to report them to the CFPB, she immediately backtraced and said they would stop calling me and remove me from their records.

I recvd a call from them today. After doing a little research on both the company and the payday loan companies... I have discovered, that at least in California, the state has issued "desist and refrain" orders against both of the companies I owe money to. I knew when I took out the loans they were evil, predatory lenders. I just didn't know HOW evil. I called Mark Anderson back at Harbinger Processing, leaving a voicemail and offering to send him a copy of the desist and refrain orders from the state of CA. He has threatened to contact my employer. While I know he and the company are engaging in illegal collection processes I wouldn't put it past them to contact my employer. But, otherwise, I'm not giving this issue another thought. I can't imagine, given the "desist and refrain" order the company would have the balls to take this to small claims court. This is just same lame debt collection company engaging in completely illegal and shmarmy practices!

My daughter just received a call from "Harbinger" co. of New York. The man on the phone were asked her for information about me, her mother. The man on the line told my daughter that I needed to contact him by 2 p.m. today. I always screen my calls and I found this blog online. I am not returning the call. What should my daughter and I do?
