Sub: Number called and when call back stated it was disconnected
Thu, 14/07/2011 21:27

I received a call from 303-294-5202 yesterday and when I called it back, it stated that the number had been disconnected or was no longer in service. I tried again and the same response. Does anyone have any clue if this is a new tactic by collection agencies?

Sub: #1 Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010Thu, 07/14/2011 - 21:27

A bill was passed called the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010" that makes these sort of calls ILLEGAL! Just tell them that they are in violation of the "Truth in Caller ID Act of 2010" and tell them that it IS ILLEGAL.

I got a call yesterday (may 2, 2011) from 443-743-2796 and when I answered they hung up and when i called back it said the number was disconnected. Today I received another phone call from a not so different number, 443-743-2797. When I answered the same thing happened, no answer and when I called back the message said it was a disconnected number. I have no idea what this is, but im expecting a call tomorrow from 443-743-2798 and if Im right about the pattern I may just contact the police about it.

I got a weird call like that and I found out through reverse phone look up it came up as private. The really odd thing about that is why would a number pop up but then be listed as private?

Sub: #5 Hi Cel, Those calls are probably for the person who had the nMon, 05/04/2009 - 04:12

Hi Cel,

Those calls are probably for the person who had the number before you. It's always best to specifically request a number that has not been in circulation for over 6 months.

Hi hsanidad08,

What is going on is the ship of state is sinking from the weight of fake money and false promises and the rats are flooding out to see what they can devour (including each other). It's really crazy right now.

Paul Sibel allegedly said: "Oh how the jackals run wild when famine strikes the land....". I really like that, it says it well...

And, if even 25% of those wronged by CAs, etc., actually fought for their rights and sued for FDCPA violations, the $1000 fines will drain them and either force them to close, or grow up and act like businessmen and not scav-engers.....

FRAUD: RECOGNIZE IT. REPORT IT. STOP IT.
Rip-off companies - FTC.
Phone harassment by Debt Collectors - FCC.
Banking issues, like ACH problems - OCC.

Sub: #6 yeah-maybe they need more lawsuits to make enough profit to pay Sat, 05/02/2009 - 20:00

yeah-maybe they need more lawsuits to make enough profit to pay phone bill? or maybe its the 300% increase in fdcpa violations filings that is hurting 'em..oh well, maybe their debt will be sold, and resold, and thrown through the cycle and i personally would laugh...
