I just got a 3 n 1 credit report and there are doubles of some of the creditors on there. How would I go about and getting the reporting agencies to delete the double of the entry. This is really bad for me because it makes me look like I am a bad person, I was amazed to see this on there. I NEED HELP with getting them off of there.

I actually got my 3 n 1 report from trucredit.com. I dont know if that could be the reason for the double entries but there a more than 4 on there. I am trying to get my credit cleaned up and then seeing that scared me alot. But I think I will dispute that on my report.

Thanks Again,

I applaud your efforts in trying to clear up your credit. Remaining vigilant for errors and false reports will help you catch things that could only serve to bring your credit down.

Yes, I agree that you should just try to see if it is an actual error on your report. Even if it is a typo, it would still constitute inaccurate data. So get that cleaned up because you do not know how it is affecting your score.

Keep us informed on your progress. You should hear from them within 30 days of sending your letter. They will provide you with a written response. And if they correct something on your report, then they will provide you with a new report free of charge.

If an item is changed or removed, the Credit Reporting Agency cannot put the disputed information back in your file unless the information provider verifies its accuracy and completeness, and the Credit Reporting Agency gives you a written notice that includes the name, address, and phone number of the provider.

Most common duplicates on reports that I hear of is student loans. Something wrong with their account number assignment that messes with what is showing on all 3 bureaus.

Well there is a few possibilities, might of been a reporting error when they switch systems, or if they went back for any reason to correct reporting on that account once already.

Having worked for a credit bureau myself, I have seen quite a many problems on just the handling of data.

Where did you get the 3 in 1 credit report, is it merged???

Sometimes it is a software problem, and not an actual reporting problem, because of the account numbers or names of the creditors can be duplicated causing some systems to not recognize that they are the same account, so it seperates them.

Also recommend with you dispute letter that you include a copy of the 3 in 1 report, and highlight everything that is duplicated, number them off and in your dispute letter note which account it is a double with.

Sub: #5 Hi LiLLuGNuT Welcome to the forums. Have you got the individuMon, 06/20/2005 - 14:44

Hi LiLLuGNuT

Welcome to the forums. Have you got the individual credit report from the three bureaus as they are more reliable with their data? There are some other agencies also who will provide you the credit reports but it will be more beneficial if you get the reports from the three bureaus.

Please do not feel sad and under-estimate yourself as there are always possibilities of errors. It happens because they are handling large number of data.

Assuming that a particular credit bureau is reporting twice on a particular entry, please write a letter of dispute to them for the deletion of the entries in error.
