A lot of times, when these people call and talk about a bank issue, they are referring to pay loans, not bounced checks. Did you take out any payday loans??

I was thinking the same thing. I am going to keep notes of the call and see what comes of them. I am glad I kept all my letters from my old PDL's saying they are resolved. so if it comes to it I can prove they are done.

I just got off the phone with the Department of Corp, he suggested to not call them back since I am unable to locate any contact information about them online. He said it is most likely a scam and I can send a complaint to the AG so they will know. So thats what I am going to do. He said if it was a legal company I should be able to google them and they most likely would be sending me something in the mail too.

It was a recorded message from 716-335-9051 claiming to have unresolved issues to deal with from my bank, and to call them back at 1-866-410-8063. My bank doesn't say I have any issues at all. The caller did not know my name or address, or have any specific information about my account. If they were a legitimate debt collection agency collecting for your bank, your bank would have given them that information. The call seems to come from Zimmerman Young and Associates, but they do not have an official website. It's clearly a scam. In cases when your bank has issues to settle with you, they will contact you or your next of kin directly before resorting to debt collection agencies. They will also usually send you a notice in the mail.

well they called and left the same recorded mess. I filled complaints with the FTC and Calif AG. Not sure what else I can do to track them down. Any advise would help. IF the are not legal and scamming people I want the word out.

UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THEM. THE FIRST TIME I EVER GO A CALL, I WAS SO SCARED I ALMOST PAID. THEN I REALIZED IT WAS A SCAM. NOW I JUST TELL THEM IF THEY CAN'T SEND ME SOMETHING ON LETTERHEAD VALIDATING MY DEBT, THAT I AM CALLING THE FBI AND LOCAL POLICE WITH THEIR INFO. THEY USUALLY HANG UP IMMEDIATELY.

So Today I called my state's Commerce Department which handles complaints agains collection agencies. You can find your own state's people who handle these complaints by googling [your state name]+"Collection Agency"+"File a Complaint".
Here's what the agency told me: This company had hundreds of complaints, but no one knows where they are, so the state can't do much. If anyone gets an address for these bozos, please let me know ASAP and I will forward that to my state for prosecution.
Today's call said that they were entering a "no contest" plea on my behalf. That's funny cause no contest pleas are used in criminal cases and last time I checked the police hadn't arrested me. Don't let these people scare you! They cannot do the things they are threatening and making those threats is ILLEGAL!
Get their info an file a complaint. Even if you don't have more than the phone number, file the complaint because the more complaints filed, the more likely the state is to try to track them down.
Whatever you do, DON'T PAY THEM A DIME!
